Picture Day is a drama short film in which the mother forces her daughter to look good in the picture.
Frame 1: It is a long shot with her mother staying at the door outside the bathroom telling her daughter to do something with her hair and put some make up on.The frame is shot with a long shot of her mother. From the look of her mother you can see that she doesn't work, and although it is morning,she is not even dressed up, her make up is done, as well as her hair.
Frame 2: This is a close up of her daughter, who just finished to shower, looking in the mirror and listening to her mom's rules. You can clearly see by the look of her face that she doesn't want to take that picture.
Frame 3: In this wide shot, filmed with fast motion, the daughter is deciding what to wear by arranging the clothes on the bed, but she doesn't really know what to wear. Also, because she listens to rock music, her pictures on the walls and by the darker color clothes, not pink dresses you can tell she is not into what kind of pictures her mom wants her to take.
Frame 4: In this long shot her mother is seen drinking from a fancy bottle and glass, while listening to pageant music. It is interesting that trough one long shot, the two characters are seen,even though they are in different rooms.
Frame 5: In this close up her mother clearly enjoys the drink and herself.
Frame 6:In this close up the girl is seen in the car's mirror, calming herself because of the stress of not finding the cigarettes in the car. Heavy metal music plays, which shows us that the girl does not like the same kind of music that her mother does.
Frame 7: This is an over the shoulder shot of the two characters having an argument. The fact that the image is not that clear and it is more shaky, makes the video look more cinematic.
Frame 8: This is a long shot of the daughter and her mom fighting in from of the house, on the grass.
Frame 9: This is the last shot of the short film, of the daughter leaving with the car. On the background is the daughter's rock music and her mom yelling and swearing at her.
